JAMMU, Jan 2: BJP State spokesman, Brig (retd) Anil Gupta has warned Congress not to spread misinformation regarding Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) passed by Parliament recently.
Talking to reporters at R S Pura today, Brig Gupta emphasized that this Act is applicable to the minorities persecuted by Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh who were forced to take refugee in India from time to time for the safety of their lives. The Act has given citizenship rights to Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains, Buddhists and Christians, he added.

It was mandatory for the refugees who have resided for 11 years in India earlier but now this period has been reduced to five years.
