BENGALURU: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who recently completed a hat-trick of victories, are turning no stone unturned to continue their winning streak against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), who they will face next in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Chinnaswamy Stadium, here on Wednesday.
Winning the last match against Chennai Super Kings despite Dhoni’s 84, is enough to boost their confidence for the next encounter. Steyn and Parthiv Patel guided RCB to a thrilling 1-run win against Chennai Super Kings.
In terms of bowling, Dale Steyn has strengthened their bowling attack after being included in the team, while their batting includes world class batters like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, who have been in good form in the tournament.
On the other hand, KXIP, lost their previous game against the Delhi Capitals at the Feroz Shah Kotla in the national capital.
KXIP will have to concentrate on their batting, as apart from KL Rahul and Chris Gayle non of their batsmen have been performing.
In terms of bowling, Punjab have three quality spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin, Murugan Ashwin and Mujeeb Ur Rahman who will hold the key to Punjab’s success.
But in previous matches, they have failed to pickup wickets at crucial junctures of the game.
In head-to-head encounter, these teams have come up against each other 23 times in the past. While the Kings XI have emerged victorious in 12 games, the Royal Challengers have managed to win 11 times.
