Bring Shrine Bill in next session: PNBMT

JAMMU, Aug 18:  Hindus of Kashmir struggling for enactment of the Shrine Bill for the protection, preservation and management of the Hindu Shrines and Temples in the Valley, demand that the bill should be brought in the next session of the Legislative Assembly. This was the demand of the members of General body of Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust, the Nodal organization of Hindus of Kashmir spearheading the Shrine Bill in successive meetings held here today. The members said that the whole community is waiting for these parties to fulfill the promise.
Revealing this Dr R L Bhat, the chief spokesperson of PNBMT said that since both BJP and PDP have assured the community that they are committed to enact the Shrine Bill, the parties should enact the bill without any further delay, as the shrines are under dire threat and need immediate management. Only a transparent and accountable Shrine Board can ensure protection and preservation and management of the temples in Kashmir. He said the hollow claims of Dharmarth have been exposed as it has not been able to make any progress at the Jawalaji Shrine, Khrew for the last ten months.
Those who spoke in the general body meetings included among others Dr, A N Pandita, Dr R L Bhat,  B L Saraf, A K Raina, H L Bhat, Man Mohan Thaplo, M K Raina, B L Zar, M L Ganjo, Jai Kumar Pathan, Pyarelal Razdan, P L Bakshi, Sundri Lal Koul, K L Bhat, R K Kilam, Shadi Lal Koul, Pran Nath Raina. Swami KumarJi presided over the meeting at Anand Nagar, while the meeting at Gosain Gund Ashram was presided over by Dr A N Pandita, president of the Trust. The meetings were conducted by Shadi Lal Koul, general secretary PNBM Trust.
