JAMMU, Mar 8: Ushering in a new revolution in the connectivity with construction of roads and bridges in border areas of the State, Jugal Kishore, Member of Parliament along with Brig YK Ahuja, Chief Engineer, Project Sampark dedicated 121 mtr Dhok bridge on Aknoor-Pallanwala road in Jammu district to the nation today.
The bridge has been constructed with a total cost of Rs. 7.28 crore under supervision of 57 RCC/ 13 BRTF of Project Sampark. It was completed in eleven months before its scheduled time, an official handout issued here today said.
This strategically important bridge is located on Akhnoor Pallanwala road. It will facilitate in smooth connectivity and improve the socio-economic development of nearby border villages in Pallanwala area. This is the third bridge being completed in the last one year on the same road and two more bridges are on verge of completion.
In his address Jugal Kishopre Sharma, MP while lauding the BRO in completing the bridge in record time said with its construction local people will get lot of relief. He said the present Union Government led by Narendra Modi is more concerned for welfare of the people living in remote and far-flung areas. Soon after Modi took over as PM he initiated many development projects for the welfare of the people living in far-flung areas of the country, he added.
The chief guest also complimented the Project Sampark, BRO employees, engineers, labourers and management for their hard work and commitment thereby achieving the target before time.
The event was attended by a huge gathering including local dignitaries, civil administration and public of all age groups from the local villages. The locals were highly enthusiastic and thankful to Government and BRO for fulfilling their long pending necessity in a befitting manner.
