BRO starts Birhon Bridge construction

UDHAMPUR, June 16: The construction work of 130 mtr long permanent bridge near Udhampur town has been started by 69 RCC of 35 BRTF under Project Sampark/BRO before schedule time.
Commander S.K Verma intimated that after demolishing the old damaged bridge, sub-soil exploration and design, the bridge construction work is starting ahead of time and this bridge is expected to be completed in two years at an estimated cost of Rs. 15.67 crore.
Construction of this bridge is very important from the social, economic and strategic point of view for this region.
The Birhon Bridge is an old bridge at the highway to Udhampur town from Army’s Northern Command Headquarters and it was bridge damaged in July 2021.
