Broad day light theft at Thannamandi

RAJOURI, Jan 1: A yet another broad day light theft has been reported in Ward No. 1 of Thannamandi town today.
Reports said that some unknown thieves broke opened the house of one Waheen Murad Wani at Raina Mohalla ( W.No.1), Thannamandi town during the mid day on Saturday. The family was not at home today and taking advantage of their absence during the day, the thieves barged into the house and decamped with, two invertors, two batteries, three sewing machines, one geyser, four blankets and several other house hold goods.
The family came to know about the matter in the evening after coming back and reported the matter to Thannamandi police. The police party visited the house and examined the spot. They registered a case and started investigation.
A few days ago, the thieves had burgled the rented house of two UP based carpenters working at furniture workshop in Thanamandi town when they had gone for Friday prayers to a mosque. Another theft took place about week ago in the house of a Govt teacher. The police failed to work out these theft cases so far. There is strong resentment among the locals of the area about increasing thefts in Thannamandi town.
