Broadcaster Maqsood Ahmad gets National AIR Award 2021

SRINAGAR, Aug 27: Renowned broadcaster and editor of Sheherbeen Maqsood Ahmed was felicitated with the National AIR Award 2021 from All India Institute of Self Local Government Mumbai (AIILSG).
The award was presented to Maqsood Ahmad, popular in social circles as Maqsood Uri, by the Advisor to the J&K LG, Farooq Khan in a ceremony held at SP College M.A Road Srinagar.
Maqsood has become the first journalist from AIR Srinagar station to have been honoured with the prestigious award.
Notably, Maqsood, a post-graduate (PG) in Mass Communication and Journalism from Kashmir University hails from a far-flung area of Uri.
Among others felicitated by AIILSG on the occasion included popular NDTV Anchor Ravish Kumar, former Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Masood Samoon, Director Doordarshan Srinagar Dr N S Manhas, Producer DDK Gulzaar Ahmed Lone, famous Kashmiri Sufi singer Abdul Rashid Hafiz and Sheena singer Yousuf Naseem.
