POONCH, Dec 19: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Border Security Force (BSF) alleged to have committed suicide by using his own service rifle in a the forward location in Mendhar sector of district Poonch today.

He was identified as ASI, Satpal Jaswal (49), of D Company of 72 Battalion, BSF. The incident took place in the morning at around 9.50 am near Cheka Gali, in Sagra-Balnoi area of Mendhar. He was on duty in a bunker and allegedly committed suicide.
The colleagues found in a pool of blood and rushed him to nearby Unit hospital, where he was declared as dead. SHO Mendhar Insp, Inayat Ahmed was informed about the matter by the unit officer. He registered a case in this connection and after conducting medical and other legal formalities, handed over the body to the unit officers.
