BSF enters Limca Book, plants 3 lakh saplings

JAMMU, Aug 12: Border Security Force (BSF), as a part of  its Golden Jubilee Celebrations is organizing series of programmes.
With the motive to contribute towards ecology and environment the BSF battalions under Frontier Headquarters Jammu today planted 20,500 saplings in various locations and outposts across the region. During  last year the BSF Frontier Headquarters Jammu had  planted 18,771 saplings.
The BSF today made new record for the Limca Book by planting a total 3,09,141 saplings on single day in the country. The force upgraded its last year’s record of Limca Book by achieving this mark.
A total 550 men were involved  in planting samplings by Jammu Frontier Headquarters. On this occasion IG BSF Jammu Rakesh Sharma along with 50 officers and other ranks took active part in plantation drive and also spread awareness among the jawans about the benefit of plants.
