JALANDHAR, Aug 7:
BSF authorities today handed over a Pakistani national to authorities.
Concerned RS Kataria, DIG, Punjab Frontiers BSF HQ here said a Pakistani boy named Sajid of the age of 13 or 14 years crossed the International Boundary inadvertently yesterday at about 1335 hrs and entered into the Indian Territory.
He reached the Border Security Fence and was caught by the alert BSF troops deployed near Rattan Khurd BoP in Amritsar sector. During questioning, Sajid revealed that he was illiterate and works in a brick kiln in an adjoining village.
Since he was not aware of the alignment of International Boundary, he inadvertently came inside the Indian Territory. Nothing objectionable had been recovered from his possession, the DIG said. He was handed over to the Rangers this morning on humanitarian grounds.
During this year, eight Pakistani nationals had been handed over to Rangers who had crossed over to India inadvertently, he added. (UNI)
