MENDHAR, Dec 27: A Constable of Border Security Force (BSF), who shot himself with his service rifle in forward area of Poonch sector during morning hours today succumbed to the injuries in Army’s Command Hospital at Udhampur this afternoon.
Official sources told the Excelsior that Constable PK Dass of 168 Bn BSF, deployed in Uchhad area of Mankote in Mendhar sub sector fired himself with his service rifle on his neck and was shifted to Government Sub District Hospital Mendhar.
BMO Men-dhar, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan told that he was shifted to Udhampur Army hospital in a helicopter after providing preliminary treatment here. However, the sources later informed that the soldier succumbed to the wounds in Udhampur Hospital. The Police has taken cognizance of the matter. The Army authorities have also ordered an inquiry.
