BSF officer dies of cardiac arrest

MENDHAR, Mar 13: A BSF officer died of cardiac arrest in Mendhar area of district Poonch last night.

Block Medical Officer Mendhar, Dr Parvaiz Khan said that a phone call was received by him from a BSF officer midnight at around 2 am, that an ASI, Budh Lal Janko (50), son of Pandu Janko, a resident of Jharkhand, presently posted in 5th Battalion of BSF deployed at forward area (LoC) complained of severe chest pain and later turned unconscious.
The officer was brought to Sub District Hospital Mendhar where he was declared as brought dead by the Medical staff there. He was said to be died of cardiac arrest by the doctor concerned.
After post- mortem, the BSF officer’s body was handed over to the Unit officers. It was later sent to his native place for performing last rites.
