JAMMU, July 8: Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu organized a free medical camp at Government Primary Health Centre (PHC), Pindi Charkalan, Jammu.
The programme was inaugurated by Surjit Singh Sekhon, DIG BSF, in the presence of Deepak Kumawat, Commandant BSF, Banambar Sahoo, Commandant BSF and other BSF officials. Rajani Bala (Block Development Officer Arnia), Dr Shamim Ahmed (Block Medical Officer Bisnah) and Dr Harbaksh Singh (CMO Jammu) were also present there.
Speaking on the occasion, Surjit Singh Sekhon said that the BSF deployed on border is always ready to give necessary assistance to border people. During the medical camp, Sekhon emphasized to extend all necessary assistance to specially challenged children of border areas. In an instance, a 2-year-old patient namely Rashmi daughter of Rakesh Kumar of village Trewa, has been identified by BSF and she has regularly been provided medical treatment in a specialized hospital.
Dr Lokeshwar Khajuria (SMO), Dr Rohit Kumar (ZMO Pindi), Dr Manvi Jandyal (Gynaecologist), Dr Prem (Medical Officer) and their dedicated team provided medical examination cover to approximately 800 patients during the camp.
Neelam Singh (Sarpanch Pindi) and Balbir Kaur (Sarpanch Trewa) and other villagers urged the BSF authorities to organize more such camps in future.
