JAMMU: BSF authorities today repatriated former Pakistani Army man to the Pak Rangers on humanitarian ground in Suchetgarh sector here.
“Pak Rangers early this morning contacted BSF via Flag Meeting and requested to handover Mohammad Baksh, 70, residents of village Gandiyal, Tehsil Pasroor, District Sialkot, (Pakistan), an ex-Pak Army man considering his old age and family commitments, on humanitarian ground,” official spokesman here said.
He said that as an altruistic gesture, considering his old age and humanitarian ground the individual was handed over, during a Commandant and Wing Commander level meeting held in cordial atmosphere in Suchetgarh sector to Pak Rangers.
Pak intruder at about 1730 hours, crossed into Indian territory in wee hours on Dec 13 and was apprehended by alert BSF troops, handed over to Pak Rangers on their request on humanitarian ground. (AGENCIES)
