JAMMU, Feb 25: Students of Primary Wing of Border Security Force (BSF) School, Jammu exhibiting exemplary sense of social responsibility and bringing laurels to the school, have raised a fund amounting to Rs 2,13,608 for the welfare of Old Aged Citizens under HelpAge India, an International level organization, working for the welfare of senior citizens.
Headmistress of the Primary Wing, Gayatri Kotwal today presented a draft amounting Rs 2, 13,608 to HelpAge India, Senior Executive, Neeru Sharma Khajuria. While speaking on the occasion, she said that the students of Primary Wing of BSF School has really bought laurels and done a tremendous task to collect such a huge amount for those senior citizens who need this.
HelpAge India is working for the cause and care of under privileged old age persons in around 70 countries including all the States of India. In Jammu, HelpAge India is running Old Age Homes at Akhnoor, Billawar, Udhampur and running Physiotherepy centres at Jammu and Akhnoor for Old Aged Citizens and also organizing free medical camps at regular intervals.
