JAMMU: Border Security Force has sounded alert in the bordering hamlets in view of flash floods that hit across three districts of Jammu region along international border.
Flash floods in Basantar and Ujh river, often leave several low lying Border Outposts in pool of water and sometimes affect the border fencing.
”BSF has alerted its forward locations falling closer to Basantar and Ujh Rivers in Samba and Kathua districts to maintain vigil along the International border apprehending fresh attempt of infiltration from across the border,” official sources here today said.
They said that though no damage was caused to the border fence in the Jammu frontier due to yesterday’s heavy rainfall and flash floods in many parts but the border force has strengthened the vigil along the border sensing fresh infiltration bids.
Sources, however, said that water boats have also been deployed by the BSF in the forward locations to ensure round the clock patrolling. ”Following intelligence reports of presence of small groups of infiltrators close to the International Border, the frequency of patrolling has been increased besides tight security blanket,” they added.
