JAMMU, Aug 24: The landline services of BSNL in various areas of the winter capital were hampered due to theft of underground cables near Dental College.
About 2000 telephone lines have been disrupted in areas including Amphalla, New Plot, Sarwal, Talli Morh, High Court and Lakkar Mandi.
The underground cables feeding the main pillar of these areas had got exposed recently due to washing away of soil caused by the excavation work undertaken by JKPCC in front of the Dental College.
The restoration work has been commenced by the BSNL authorities on war footing and may take about a week to complete.
