BSNL workers hold rally, highlight demands

JAMMU, Apr 12: National Union of BSNL Workers (FNTO) of J&K Circle today held a rally during lunch hours at the gate of GMTD office compound, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu in support of their demands.
The rally was presided over by Sushil Sharma, Circle president and addressed by Thomas John K, All India president of the union.
While addressing the workers, Thomas John K demanded that the Wage Revision Committee be constituted immediately for the revision of pay scales of BSNL employees, which is due from January 1, 2017.
He also demanded bonus payment withheld by the management. Stating that the BSNL employees are suffering due to arbitrary withdrawal of LTC, medical benefits, compassionate ground appointments, filling of backlog vacancies of SC/ST employees, Thomas urged the management for restoration of these benefits.
He further said that the promotional prospects of BSNL employees are very bleak and urged for diluting the academic qualifications prescribed for departmental promotion of R/M, T/M, TTA and senior TOA.
