JAMMU, July 22: The activists of State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) held a strong protest demonstration at  Exhibition Ground  near Press Club here today.
A large number of BSP workers and leaders led by State president of  the BSP,  Tarsem Khullar  and State Coordinator of the party for J&K and Himachal  Pardesh,  M L Tomar (Ex-MLC) assembled at Exhibition Ground  at around 11 AM  today and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against Modi Government  and BJP.
The protesting BSP workers also burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and condemned the BJP leader’s remarks against BSP national president,  Kumari Mayawati. He said though FIR has been registered against the BJP leader  for his derogatory remarks against BSP supremo,  but he has  not been arrested so far. They demanded immediate arrest of BJP leader.
The protesting BSP workers also  condemned the incidents of attack on some ‘Dalits’ in Gujarat and alleged that this has been engineered to create communal tension in the country by some vested interests. They held BJP responsible for these ugly incidents.
While speaking to the media, state president of the party,  Khullar said that BJP has been exposed for its communal stance and Kashmir situation is the result of wrong policies of the BJP. He alleged that BSP leadership was not invited to the all party meet held  on Kashmir issue on Thursday at Srinagar. The party has strongly condemned the  BJP-PDP for ignoring the national party (BSP)  in all party meet convened by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at Srinagar. He demanded that discrimination against BSP be stopped in the State. Khullar also alleged that Dalits and other backward communities are being ignored by the present Government in J&K State.
Prominent among others who accompanied Mr Kullar included- State vice president S R Majotra, senior leaders KL Attri, Hari Chand Thappa, RK Bhagat and Deepak Rana.
