BARI BRAHMNA, Jan 15: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) celebrated the birthday of Mayawati, MP Rajya Sabha, and National President BSP, with grandeur at Ambedkar Bhawan Bari Brahmna.
Dr Avtar Singh Karimpuri, former Member of Parliament (MP) and Coordinator BSP for Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, with Darshan Rana, President J&K BSP, presiding over the function.
Rohit Sangral added musical fervor to the celebration by singing songs in praise of Mayawati, as well as missionary songs dedicated to the enduring movement of social transformation and economic emancipation initiated by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram, and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
During the proceedings, speakers showered praise on Mayawati, lauding her dedicated leadership in the upliftment of the downtrodden.
They highlighted her unwavering commitment to the welfare of SC, ST, OBC, and other minorities.
Addressing the broader socio-political context, the speakers expressed concerns over the alleged reluctance of the Modi Government to address crucial issues like reservation.
They underscored the alleged agenda of entities like BJP, RSS, VHP, and others to undermine the constitutional rights and reservations in India.
Drawing parallels with Jammu and Kashmir, the speakers highlighted instances where orders from the High Court impacted reservations in promotions for SC, ST, and OBC.
The speakers urged unity and alignment with the BSP platform to ensure the protection of rights, echoing the need to wield political power as a means of safeguarding fundamental rights.
Charanjit Chargotra extended gratitude to all attendees, including Vice President Charanjit Chargotra, DDC Sandeep Magotra, Sunil Magotra, Gourav Baksh, Sashi Bushan Thappa, RC Gandhi, Jagdish Bhagat, Bishan Dass Bhagat, and others who contributed to the event’s success.
