JAMMU, Nov 6: J&K unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has demanded that reserved category employees working in the government departments of Jammu and Kashmir should be given the benefit of reservation in promotions.
Bahujan Samaj Party’s JKUT unit president, Darshan Rana during press statement has reiterated the demand for reservation in promotion to the reserved category employees working in government departments and said that Article 370 and 35A have now been abolished in Jammu and Kashmir, but despite this, the reserved category employees of the JKUT are not getting the benefit of reservation in promotion.
He stated that the National Conference coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir needs to take steps in this direction and a bill should be passed in the Assembly as soon as possible to restore the reservation. He said since 2015, SC and ST employees are being deprived of this benefit. He said in the interest of the reserved category government employees, the Bahujan Samaj Party has constantly raised this demand.
Rana said he is hopeful that the current government will seriously consider this important issue and do justice to the reserved category employees.
