JAMMU, July 31: Condemning the State Government for its failure in framing any policy and programme for the return of Kashmiri migrants, State president, Bahajun Samaj Party, Tulsi Dass Langeh, came down heavily on NC-Congress coalition Government headed by Omar Abdullah and the main opposition party PDP headed by Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti, adding both are befooling the people in their own way.
Gradually the Kashmir migrants are settling themselves in various parts of the Country besides Jammu region, leaving no hope for their return to their natives in Kashmir valley, which is a serious issue and an eye opener for the Central and State Government, Langeh said.
“Right form the era of Sheikh Mohd Abdullah in 1947, all the refugees whether they were from PoK or West Pakistan, had been settled in Jammu region, despite proposal from few MLAs that half of the refugees be settled in Kashmir region, bur Mr Abdullah adamantly and deliberately settled all the refugees in Jammu region”, said Langeh adding the West Pakistani refugees are still clamouring for their citizenship rights.
An era has been passed since 1989, but the Government could not frame any policy for the return of Kashmiri migrants despite paying heavy amount every year by the Central Government for Kashmiri migrants, he added.
Maintaining that the successive Governments in the Centre as well as in the State have been in deep slumber on this grave issue, the BSP State president demanded trifurcation of the State by giving statehood status to Kashmir and Jammu region and union territory status to Ladakh region.
