BSP gears up for Assembly polls

JAMMU, May 28:  Keeping in view the forthcoming State Assembly polls, the Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has appointed the party election incharge in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Narinder Kumar Kashyap, the BSP national general secretary, he along with Himachal Pradesh incharge Avtar Singh Karimpuri, and Punjab co-incharge Prakash Bharti have been deputed for the elections in J&K.
Dividing Jammu district into two parts, Mr Kashyap has appointed two district incharge. Krishan Thapa has been made incharge of Jammu-A and Tilak Chand Bhagat as incharge of Jammu-B. Both the heads have been authorized to constitute district committees.
These appointments and announcements were made during a meeting of the party workers at the BSP headquarters in Jammu, under the leadership of Narinder Kashyap.
While addressing the workers, Mr Kashyap said that the party mandate would be preferred to loyalists of BSP and a final decision in this regard will be made after taking all party men into confidence.
The meeting was attended by all the party office bearers and senior leaders of BSP. Avtar Singh Karimpuri, Prakash Bharti, Tulsidas Langeh, Ratan Lal Chargotra, Gurnam Choudhary, B D Thapa and Ratan Kumar were also present in the meeting.
