BSP lauds Mayawati for getting promotion bill passed in RS

JAMMU, Dec 18: State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party has expressed gratitudes to the party supreme Mayawati for her  efforts in getting the 17th Constitutional Amendment regarding reservation in the promotion passed with more than two-third majority in the Rajya Sabha.
A meeting of the BSP State unit was held in this regard, here today, under the chairmanship of its president Tulsi Dass Langeh.
Addressing the meet, Mr Langeh recalled the contribution of  Mayawati towards upliftment of oppressed and backward people of the country. He informed that the BSP supremo has also written a letter to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh favouring one percent reservation for economically weaker sections of the society among general castes.
In the meeting, a resolution was also passed urging the people in general and SC/ST/OBC in particular to unite them under the banner of BSP so that goals of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Master Kanshi Ram could  be achieved.
Those who attended the meeting included, R L Chargotra, Rattan Kumar Bhagat, Som Nath, Rakesh Wazir, Badri Nath,  Tilak Raj Bhagat and Dalbir Bhagat.
