BSP leaders visit Akhnoor flood affected areas

JAMMU, Sept 20:  A delegation of national as well as State BSP leaders conducted hectic  tour of Akhnoor flood affected  areas, met the victims of flash flood of river Chenab at Bhour Jagir and its adjoining villages, today.
The delegation led by Narender Kashyap MP Rajya Sabha and national general secretary Bahujan Samaj Party accompanied by Choudhary Gurnam Singh, party coordinator for J&K, State BSP president Tulsi Dass Langeh, general secretary of the party, Ratan Kumar Bhagat, BSP candidate for Akhnoor Assembly seat, Raj Kumar Bhagat, party president for Akhnoor Manoj Kumar and Virender Kumar  visited the affected  areas.
Darshan Singh Lambardar of Bhour Jagir told  the Bahujan Samaj Party delegation that  450 Kanal land with crops of the village was washed  away during the flash flood of river Chenab  and similarly thousands  Kanal of land with crops of adjoining  villages  had also  washed away and a  large number of peoples have become landless and  in this way the peoples who were dependent upon the agriculture are facing starvation  like situation.
The river Chenab reached at quite near to the village Bhour Jagir. There is apprehension of submerging of banks in the river Chenab in case of another flash flood.
Narender Kashyap contacted the concerned Tehsildar on telephone on the spot and apprised him about this alarming situation. The concerned Tehsildar Vijay Kumar assured issuance of ration and maximum possible assistance to the victims of natural calamities.
There after Kashyap visited the house of  late Sarpanch Capt Sita Ram and condoled the sad demise  of Sarpanch Capt Sita Ram, expressed sympathy with the braved  family and prayed almighty for grant  peace to  the departed soul  and courage to breaved family.
