JAMMU, Sept 19: Member Parliament (MP) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and In-charge J&K affairs, Raja Ram today chaired a meeting of J&K office bearers of the Party to review the party activities in the Union Territory.
Besides UT level, Raja Ram also assessed the progress of the party at constituency, district, assembly and sector level. While chairing the meeting, the MP stressed the need to go up to the door steps of the people to listen to their miseries due to abnormal hike in prices of all essential commodities viz. diesel and petrol which affects the common man.
He criticized the J&K Government for its failure in opening of the schools in the UT and thus spoiling the education career of the poor students while as almost all states have started their educational institutions. He appealed likeminded workers to come and help BSP in its fight sectarian approach in dealing with the affairs of poor and rich. He also stressed on the need to strengthen the organization setup in J&K.
S R Majotra, J&K president of BSP, while addressing the party workers, criticized the UT Government for its failure in providing employment to educated youth, controlling hike in prices, check increase in atrocities on poor masses and ignoring sentiments of SC/ST/OBCs. He appealed poor people, particularly dalits to join BSP to fight for the cause of common man.
Prominent among others who attended the meeting were party vice president Charanjeet Chadgotra, general secretaries Hari Chand Thappa and Preetam Chand, Advocate Shashi Bhushan Thappa, Darshan Rana, Sunil Majotra, Tarsem Lal and Pushap Kumar.
