JAMMU, Aug 3: Bahujan Samaj Party today rejected the interlocutors report alleging that the main issue of trifurcation of the State, which is the only solution to the Kashmir imbroglio, has not been given due place in it.
“The report is totally biased and against the wishes and interests of the people of the State, particularly against the interest of people of Jammu, Ladakh and majority of the people of Kashmir region”, the BSP leaders said.
The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of BSP State president, Tulsi Dass Langeh, observed that the interlocutors have prepared the report on the instance of Kashmir based ruling elite, NC, Congress and PDP, who are plundering the State Exchequer and packages given by the Central Government.
Langeh said after having interaction with the cross sections of the society of Kashmir valley, it was concluded that the people in general of Kashmir valley are also against the report.
Citing the examples of Punjab, which has been divided into three States—Punjab, Harayana and Himachal Pradesh, Langeh said if these States could progress leaps and bounds then what is hitch in trifurcation of J&K.
Advocating for giving separate statehood status to Jammu and Kashmir regions as well as union territory status to Ladakh region, BSP leader said that this will not cause any burden on the exchequer of the State and Centre, as the Secretaries are already existing at both the capitals at Jammu and Srinagar whereas in Ladakh, civil secretariat of LAHD Council is already functioning.
Langeh maintained that the trifurcation of the State will provide equal opportunities to all the three regions to progress simultaneously.
State vice-president, RL Chargotra, and state general secretaries, Rakesh Wazir and AK Manawar were among others who attended the meeting.
