JAMMU, Aug 1: The State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today warned the Government over its proposed move of changing the name of Dr Ambedkar Road.
In a statement issued here today, BSP State president, Tarsem Lal Khullar, said that it has been gathered that name of Dr Ambedkar Road is going to be changed with the malafied intention of some misled elements.
He said that BSP opposes this move with tooth and nail, as change of name of Dr Ambedkar Road will be a great injustice with peoples of Jammu region.
Khullar said that BSP warns the Government to desist any such move to disturb peaceful atmosphere of the State, as it will not be tolerable for followers of Dr Ambedkar. He asserted that instead of changing the name of Dr Ambedkar Road, a big sign board highlighting the name of the road should be installed at Bikram Chowk signaling toward Railway head.
This will be viewed as good sign of gesture toward peace loving masses of Jammu region, he added.
