BSS organizes ‘Prachar Vibhag Workshop’

JAMMU, June 9: The two-day “Prachar Vibhag Workshop” of Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti (BSS), J&K, held at Narayan Bhawan, Ambphalla Jammu, concluded today with the announcement of new team of Prant Prachar Vibhag.
Dr Vivek Sharma has been nominated as State Prabhari, Amit Sharma as Prachar Pramukh, Devender Padha as Prant Samwaddata and Vikrant Singh as Prant Social Media Incharge.
During the workshop, four sessions were held wherein the participants were trained about handing media and public relations. The first session was held on “Use of Social Media”, which was jointly chaired by Dr Vivek Sharma and Amit Sharma. They threw light on the various aspects of social media and its prompt utility for spreading the intended message.
In the second session, participants were made aware about the role of pictures in disseminating information to the masses. The session was chaired by Kshetriya Prachar Pramukh, Rajinder Kumar. He mentioned that a precise picture can deliver the message effectively to the target section and can be used at the place where it is difficult to describe the situation in words.
Prof Govind Singh, HoD Mass Communication and New Media, Central University of Jammu, was the resource person of the third session. He spoke on the topic “Print and Electronic Media” and told participants about the various aspects of print and electronic media. He said, “both the forms of media are relevant at their places and command equal share in public. But both have their unique advantages.”
The last session on “Writing Skills” was chaired by senior journalist Nishikant Khajuria. He offered valuable tips to the participants on writing impactful and objective media releases. He also answered queries of participants on the topic.
The concluding session was addressed by State organizing secretary, Pradeep Kumar. He urged the participants to take effective steps to fulfill their responsibility. “Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti, J&K is holding many activities which are unique and value based, and is required to be publicized for betterment of the society,” he added.
Prominent among those present in the valedictory session, included president BSS J&K, Ved Bhushan, Manoj, Satish Mittal and Dr Naresh Sharma.
