Buddhist organizations hold programme at Akhnoor

JAMMU, Mar 29: The Buddhist organizations of North India with the co-operation of Sunita Bangotra – president  Savitiri Bai Phule Mahila Sangathan (J&K) and Sham Lal Basson – president All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Akhnoor organized a programme on Dhamma discourse.
The Buddhist monks and nuns along with hundreds of followers from different states of India participated in magnificent event. The Buddhist monks deliberated on Buddha and his Dhamma. The Buddhist scholars gave lecture on the importance of this Buddhist site of Ambaran. More than 25 Buddhist monks and nuns from Sarnath, Bodh Gaya, Nagpur and other parts of country participated and delivered on Buddha and his Dhamma and related studies.
The Dhamma yatra was organized and more than 300 people including Buddha Bhante, Buddhist Nuns, Scholar and followers participated in Dhamma Yatra and Budh Bandana was chanted at Buddhist site of Ambaran where Dhamma yatra was concluded.
The Kabir Mandli from Gorkhpur (U.P) Sang Bhajan on the life and mission of Sadhguru Kabir Ji Maharaj.
Guru Ravi Dass Mandli R. S. Pura headed by Sonu Heer also sang Krantikari bhajans.
While speaking on this occasion, Sham Lal Basson, corporator and president DCM threw light on the importance of Ancient Buddhist site of Ambaran. He said that Ambaran is one of eight site in the World where Buddhist relics were placed. He said that we should follow the path shown by Kranitkari saints like Sandhguru Kabir Ji Maharaj and Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj.
Sunita Bangotra conducted the stage. Manoj Kumar – president Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Akhnoor, Om Prakash, Ramesh Chander, Tirath Ram. Sub. (retd) Bachan Lal and ladies Sewadars also participated in the function.
