Buddhist seer Bhikkhu Sanghasena says this century belongs to Bharat

JAMMU, Feb 22: “War can be stopped by wisdom and darkness dispelled by light. The entire world is in a state of chaos and looks up to Bharat as the harbinger of hope and peace. This century belongs to Bharat.”

This was stated by Ven Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder and President, Mahabodhi International Meditation Center, Leh, while addressing at a seminar held in Jammu University, here today.
The eminent Buddhist seer from Ladakh exhorted the youth to remain physically strong, mentally disciplined, spiritually enlightened, globally friendly and committed to purification and beautification of the mind. He also emphasised the relevance of the Bharatiya value system rooted in ahimsa, compassion, maitriya and yoga and democratic ethos in today’s world which is desperately looking for a ray of light in the midst of tempests of immorality, corruption and conflicts.
He lauded the organisers, Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa (LPT), for the exemplary work they have been doing in social and economic empowerment of the communities living in the rural areas of the UT of Ladakh.
The Director of Ladakh Phanday, Tsogspa highlighted the services provided by their organization, especially during the floods caused by the cloudburst in 2010 and Covid-19 pandemic.
Maj Gen (Retd), S K Sharma presided over the event in which Pradeep Joshi, Akhil Baratiya Seh Sampark Pramukh (RSS), was the chief guest. The lectures were themed on “The contribution of Bharat in promoting global peace”.
Pradeep Joshi, in his address, highlighted that the idea of Bharat has never been against any country or ideology. “Bharatiya society has always had environmental and geo-cultural consciousness as well as gender parity. Our polity, economy as well as culture have an inclusive, spiritual and conflict-free foundation which is indispensable for a peaceful planet,” said the RSS functionary.
In his presidential address, Maj Gen S K Sharma expressed confidence that the students, scholars and the faculty of the university and its affiliated colleges who attended the seminar benefitted immensely from the lectures of the two expert speakers.
The dignitaries later inaugurated a photo exhibition of the social work carried out by Ladakh Phanday Tsogspa, a Non-Governmental Organisation, in the UT of Ladakh. The exhibition showcased the various projects undertaken by the organisation in the three categories of “Seva, Sanskar and National integration.
