JAMMU, Nov 27: Nowabad police arrested a Budgam resident along with 3 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, during patrolling, a team from Nowabad Police Station led by Inspector Deepak Jasrotia intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK04E-8341.
During checking, police team recovered 3 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the load carrier driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Yaseen Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Dar, a resident of Shollipora, District Budgam.
A case under FIR Number 170/19 under section 8/15 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nowabad Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
