SRINAGAR, Oct 8: Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari has called upon the government to provide a government job to the widow of DySP Humayun Muzamil Bhat, who valiantly laid down his life while combating terrorists in south Kashmir’s Kokernag last month.
He also suggested renaming the railway station in his hometown of Budgam in the honour of the heroic DySP.
In a statement, Bukhari said, “Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Muzamil Bhat, along with two other senior officers, sacrificed their lives for the nation while fighting terrorists in Kokernag on September 13. I strongly suggest that the railway station in central Kashmir’s Budgam district should be named after the braveheart Humayun Muzamil.”
Sadly, we often tend to forget the gallant soldiers and officers who lay down their lives for our nation. Therefore, I earnestly propose renaming Budgam’s Railway Station in memorial of the fallen hero, Humayun Muzamil.
“I also appeal to Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha to provide a government job to the widow of the martyred officer, who is a young, educated woman with a young child to take care of.”
