JAMMU, Nov 20: Appreciating pre-ponement of budget session, PDP leader and member, State Advisory Board for Gujjars and Bakerwals, Abdul Hamid Choudhary, today said that financial discipline in the State was must for ensuring accountability and this step initiated by the Government would help utilize Central funds judiciously and without any delay.
In his statement issued here, Choudhary Hamid said this decision of the State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed would bring in financial discipline that will ensure preparation of budget well in time.
“This will then automatically be followed by timely approval after which works will be executed at ease thereby ensuring quality by all means. The decision will also ensure that project costs don’t overrun”, he added.
Choudhary Hamid said that this decision will also increase the capacity of departments to make expenditure and make optimum utilization of funds during the next fiscal.
“Another good decision is that of mid-term review to be held in August every year which will ensure that finds are best utilized”, he added.
