JAMMU: Governor N N Vohra has summoned both houses of the State legislature to meet here for the budget session commencing from January 18.
The Governor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him under sub-section (1) of section 53 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, has summoned the State Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council to meet at Jammu on Monday, the 18th January, 2016 at 11:00 am, an official spokesman said.
After the Governor’s address to both the Houses of the Legislature, each House will meet as a separate body at the time specified by the respective Presiding Officers, he said.
With the Governor formally summoning the State Legislature in Jammu on 18 January 2016 for budget session, the members of the Legislative Assembly have been asked to submit questions, bills and resolutions for the said session. (AGENCIES)
