KISHTWAR, May 15: A commercial building housing various shops was gutted in a midnight fire incident at Nawapachi in Marwah area here.
As per reports, sudden flames started coming out of commercial building of Gul Mohd Zarger of Nowgam Marwah last night.
Locals and police reacted and tried to douse the flames but in the absence of any Fire Station in the area fire was controlled after hectic efforts with limited resources available and by then the commercial building had suffered heavy damage.
Sharing details SDM Marwah, Dr. Mohsin Raza said that first floor of the shopping complex housing a medical shop and two Kiryana stores was completely gutted whereas three shops at the ground floor also received partial damage.
Reason behind the fire is not known immediately but police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
