UDHAMPUR, Mar 28: The district unit of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) has expressed that teaching community has been accorded a big relief with the decision of the new Education Minister Altaf Bukhari.
In a meeting of the JKTF held here today under the chairmanship of Rajesh Sharma, the members expressed gratitude to the Education Minister for taking a historic decision for keeping the controversial Government order No. 66, dated 16-02-2017 regarding screening test for promotion of all the non-Gazetted as well as Gazetted officers, in abeyance.
They said this decision has given great relief to the left out teachers who have been promoted but not adjusted after the issuance of this order which was discriminatory in nature. The Forum also termed the decision of new minister for relieving teachers from the non-teaching assignments such as BLO’s, election process and different types of surveys, a right step to boost the standard of education.
The Forum urged upon the higher authorities that a copy of syllabus for classes 5th to 9th , which is recently issued by SIE Jammu be provided to the institution before the beginning of the new session and salary of RETs and head teachers which is pending for the last 2-4 months be released without any delay.
Surinder Sharma, district president, Sanjay Sharma, Kewal Krishan, Chaman Lal, Vijay Sharma, Gulsher Ahmed, Sanjay Baria, Ravinder Tripathi, Ravi Padha and others were also present.
