Bukhari for proper implementation of relief initiatives for Kashmiri migrants

SRINAGAR, Sept 21: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today directed the officers for ensuring proper implementation of various initiatives and schemes undertaken for Kashmiri migrants.
The Minister was speaking at a review meeting convened to discuss various issues related to Kashmiri migrants.
Financial Commissioner, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, Relief and Rehabilitation, B. B. Vyas, Administrative Secretaries of Transport, PDD, Industries and Commerce Department, PWD(R&B), PHE, I&FC, Youth Services Sports, Health and Medical Education, Director General Budget, Relief Commissioner (Migrants) and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
The Minister directed the officers for working out mechanism for granting one time amnesty for deletion of names and surrender of ration cards of Kashmiri migrants in a time bound manner. He said that it will weed out the mess of corruption in the organization to a large extent.
Syed Basharat Bukhari said that procedure for bifurcation of ration cards be made easier. He said that migrants working outside the State should not be asked un-necessarily for bifurcation of their ration cards and the mechanism be made transparent and easy.
The Minister directed launching Special Drive of Udaan scheme and other related welfare schemes for Kashmiri migrants in various migrant camps and also the areas which are populated by them.
Syed Basharat Bukhari said that monthly relief should go directly into the bank accounts of the Kashmiri migrants through DBT and cheque system should be dispensed with.
He also directed that salary to the employees appointed under PM’s Package be also disbursed in the same manner as is being done in case of other regular employees of the State and they should not feel any inconvenience in this regard.
Issues regarding deduction of HRA of employees appointed under PM’s Package, providing of RBA benefit to Kashmiri migrants and other related issues were also discussed in the meeting and necessary instructions were issued to the concerned officers.
