Bukhari reviews implementation of schemes

SRINAGAR, Aug 3: Minister for Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today asked Agriculture Production, Animal Husbandry and allied departments to come up with a ‘Concept Paper’ so as to help develop more competitive proposals for overall development and economic progress of Sangrama constituency.
The Minister gave these instructions while chairing a joint meeting of the departments to review the implementation of various developmental schemes in Sangrama constituency.
The Minister said that the departments including Agriculture Production, Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries in order to have a prospective plan in place for proper utilization of funds need to draft a concept paper that will help them set definitive goals, targets and provide guidelines as how to go about such a plan to achieve the outcome of economic growth & development in the constituency with respect to these sectors.
The Minister said the concept paper will help the departments focus on specific areas of interest and help prioritize these for further streamlining the utilization of funds that are made available from different sources from time to time. He said the document will also put in place targets that are required to be achieved on ground at specific points in time.
The Minister asked the concerned Administrative Secretaries to form committees within the respective departments that will help formulate the document in 45 days.
The Minister also asked the concerned to survey the areas requiring attention within 15 days, following which awareness camps will be held in these areas regarding suitable agricultural interventions.
The Minister also asked the concerned authorities of the Agriculture Department to carry out soil assessment in consultation with SKUAST, particularly in the areas including Kandi, Kruhen and Khoiee and help identify the soil type fit for specific crops and fruits in these areas, so that the farmers and horticulturists could achieve better production.
Commissioner Secretary Agriculture Production, M. A Bukhari, Secretary Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Satesh Nehru, Directors Agriculture, Sericulture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries besides other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
