Bungling in distribution of ration in Nagbatna, issuance of BPL cards

KISHTWAR, May 7: Bungling in distribution of Government ration meant for BPL families have surfaced in Nagbhatna area of Drabshalla tehsil of Kishtwar district where instead of distributing ration among the deserving BPL families is sold in black for pretty long time. Not only this bunglings in issuance of BPL cards in twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar have also come to fore.
Taking the cognizance of the same the Government has ordered a probe into the matter so that the people involved in the racket are punished under the law of the land.
According to official sources, the Government has initiated probe into black marketing of Government ration by sales man of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Nagbhatna in Kishtwar district as well as bungling in framing of BPL ration cards in the districts of Kistwar and Doda.
Sources said, ration in FCS&CA Nagbhatna area of Kishtwar district is sold in black while the consumers are not getting the ration supply for months together. As the issue was brought in the notice of District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Kumar Sharma he without wasting a moment ordered a probe through the Tehsildar Drabshalla directing him to submit the report to his office within days.
Sources said the ration meant for public distribution under BPL is sold in black by the Salesman in league with some black marketers of the area who being a Government employee is in possession of the BPL Ration Card himself while his brother who too is a Government employee also possess the BPL card.
As the complaint regarding the same was received by Assistant Director FCS&CA Doda, Pardeep Kumar Shan he besides ordering the probe into the matter attached the Salesman, Ghulam Nabi and gave the charge to Nek Mohammed presently working in Sub Store Binoon for distribution of ration to public in addition to his own duties.
The AD has also issued directives to TSO, Drabshalla to closely monitor and supervise the distribution of ration at Government Sales Depot Nagbhatana and report the status of pending grievances of the public of the area.
Admitting that there were many complaints of the people from the area Pardeep Kumar Shan, Assistant Director, FCS&CA said that actually he too received such complaints a number of times. Earlier ration was given manually and it was not known but now every thing is on the portal and fraud can be detected within no time, he added.
