VIJAYPUR, Dec 18: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and former Minister, S Manjit Singh has alleged that the bureaucracy wanted to delay Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The suffering of the people of Jammu and Kashmir can be addressed by holding Assembly elections. However, the bureaucracy does not want elections in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said while addressing workers meeting at Raya in Samba District.
He sought to explain that the elected representatives are answerable to the people of their respective constituencies and therefore, the Assembly elections in J&K should be held as early as possible to end the suffering of the masses.
Maintaining that people of Jammu as well as Kashmir have collective demand to restore Statehood, Manjit Singh said that the demands and sufferings of both the regions are the same as the people are fed up with the LG Administration due to their non-responsive approach towards the suffering of the masses.
He alleged that all the recruitments conducted post 2019 turned out to be major scams in J&K leading to more unemployment. “The educated youth who deserved to be observed in the Govt jobs have become overaged and they are now unable to get jobs. The private sector is not powerful enough to generate employment for the local youths. However, the industrial sector in Samba, Jammu and Kathua also prefer non-locals over locals. Therefore, the authorities should ensure jobs for the locals in private and industrial sectors,” he added.
The Apni Party leader also accused LG Administration of adopting discriminatory approach towards Kandi areas of Jammu region with no employment policy or any kind of development project. He said that the Kandi area is worst hit with growing unemployment, poor pace of development and shortage of drinking water supply system.
“The Govt should announce an employment policy for the educated unemployed youth of Kandi belt and hold on spot recruitment in the security forces,” he said.
Prominent among those who attended the workers meeting, included Apni Party District President Samba, Raman Thappa, Block President Vijaypur Ex-Capt Mohan Lal Sharma, District President SC Wing and Sarpanch Vijaypur Capt Joginder Lal, District President Youth Wing Samba, Mangat Ram, Adv Lovely Mangol and others.
