Sir,
The worst form of corruption that exists in Indian social set up now a days is corruption by the elites and who is the elite group ? It is that class of the administrative set up which occupies the top hierarchy in the performance of executive functions. They are better known as bureaucrats who are regarded as a link between the Government and masses but what if instead of acting as a lifeline for redressel of public grievances this elite class a promotes nepotism and red tapism thus giving rise to lack of administrative efficiency and social disorinetation Governmental transparency and accountability are indispensable for promoting social, economic and political justice. Every time it is a matter of shock and shame for the whole nation when our so called ‘babus’ are found indulging in offences of criminal breach of trust and obtaining illegal gratification other than legal remuneration in the performance of official duties. But at the same time it is also true that our country has produced some of the best bureaucrats who have left a mark in the history of executive democracy. Bureaucracy is the backbone of administration and functions as a link of coordination and cooperation between various Government agencies and State instrumentalities. Let all the citizens of my nation take pledge to fight against corruption in all its forms.
Yours etc…
