Burglar arrested with stolen items

JAMMU, May 31: Bishnah Police arrested a burglar and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, on May 15 this year, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Bishnah by a lady namely Gurmeet Kour, wife of Sajan Singh of Village Rakh Manghal stating that some unknown thieves have broken main door and three almirah of her house and stolen gold ornaments.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 86/2021 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Chib after strenuous efforts along with the analysis of technical assistance and CCTV footages of the area arrested the burglar, who was identified as Mehboob Akhter, son of Shamas Din of Village Dodla Tehsil Basohli District Kathua, at present Teli Basti Tehsil Bari Brahmana District Samba.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the above case along with his real brother namely Mohammad Ayoub. Manhunt has been launched to nab Mohammad Ayoub.
On the disclosure of Mehboob Akhter, stolen items including 1 gold kada, 1 gold chain, ladies wallet and child locket were recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other cases.
