Burglar arrested within 48 hrs, stolen cash recovered

JAMMU, Nov 18: City police under ‘Operation Meghdoot’ cracked a theft case within 48 hours by arresting a burglar and recovery of stolen cash.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Ali Mohammad Shora, son of Abdul Aziz Shora of Hyderpora Srinagar on November 15 with City Police Station stating that he was staying in hotel at Residency Road and in the morning hours when he returned back after offering prayers he found his cash Rs 25000 stolen from his room.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 59/17 under Section 454 and 380 was lodged by Police Station City and investigation started.
During the course of investigation conducted on the basis of CCTV footage collected from the hotel, the burglar identified as Mohammad Usman (21), son of Abdul Qadir of Chawa Rajouri was arrested from Malik Market after tracking his mobile phone. On his disclosure the stolen amount was also recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO City Inspector Vishal Sharma and assisted by Incharge Residency Road Police Post SI Sunil Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
