Burglar wanted by Mumbai police arrested, 500 gms gold recovered

JAMMU, Nov 11: Channi Himmat police today arrested a burglar, who was wanted by Mumbai Police in a robbery case.
A police spokesman said that, a Maharashtra Police team approached Channi Himmat Police Station for assistance in a robbery case, which occurred in Kalyan Mumbai on October 17. In this regard, a case has been registered at Kalyan Police Station under Section 454, 457, 380 IPC, he added.
On specific inputs, police party from Channi Himmat Police Station arrested the thief from Sector 4, Channi Himmat, who has been identified as Ganesh Joginder Prasad, son of Joginder Prasad of Laswadi Kalyan, Mumbai.
Stolen gold ornaments and jewelry weighing 500 grams including 12 bangles,  6 rings, 5 necklace, 2 pair earrings, 2 mangal sutra, 4 chains, 2 pair tops, 1 nathni, bracelet and gold chain were recovered on his disclosure, he added.
After completing legal formalities, the accused along with recovered jewelry was handed over to Mumbai police for further investigation.
Police party headed by SHO DySP Probationer Owaise Loun and PSI Javed Malik made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East SS Sambyal.
