Burglars decamp with gold, silver, Rs 95,000 cash

SAMBA, Feb 12: Burglars decamped with gold as well as Silver ornaments and cash from the house of a retired honorary Army Lieutenant in village Tralokpur falling under the jurisdiction of Vijaypur Police Station of Samba district during broad daylight today.
According to Honorary Lt. Raghubir Singh the burglars decamped with 25 Tolas of Gold ornaments, Silver and Rs 95,000 cash from his residence during broad daylight after scaling the wall and breaking open the locks of the doors.
He said the family members were not in the house at that time as they had gone in the neighborhood to enquire about the health of some of their relative and he himself had gone to Jammu for medical check up. He said when his wife reached to her residence later she saw the locks broken and goods ransacked while the Gold, Silver and cash was missing from the house.
The incident has created a panic in the area and people gathered in the residence of the victim. Raghubir Singh said that through CCTV footage it was found that the burglars had come on a bike and a vehicle. He said a FIR has been registered in Vijaypur Police Station in this regard.
Confirming that house breaking has taken place at Tralokpur, Vijaypur Police said that they have registered a case after visiting the spot and started investigations. How-ever no one has been arrested so far.
In another incident Rs 31, 000 in cash and 16 grams of gold were stolen from the house of Jyoti Devi, wife of Daleep Kumar in village Patti under the jurisdiction of Vijaypur Police Station. Vijaypur Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
