Burglars gang busted; kingpin arrested with stolen cash, i-phone

JAMMU, July 23: Gandhi Nagar police busted burglars’ gang with the arrest of the burglar’s kingpin of the gang along with stolen cash and i-phone worth Rs 57,000.
As per police sources, on July 1 last year, a complaint was lodged by Roma Bhagotra, wife of Satish Bhagotra, a resident of Sainik Colony with Police Station Gandhi Nagar stating that on March 5, 2017, she parked her car outside a showroom in Gandhi Nagar and some unknown persons after breaking the glass of her car stole her purse containing Rs 30,000 cash, i-phone, etc.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 113/17 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police picked up several suspects for questioning and finally arrested the thief, who happens to be the kingpin of the burglars’ gang.
The accused has been identified as Himalaya Sharma, son of Pardeep Sharma, a resident of Gandhi Nagar. On his disclosure, police recovered stolen cash and one Apple i-phone worth Rs 57000.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by SI Madan Lal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
