SRINAGAR, July 22: Police recovered stolen property worth lakhs during the investigation of a burglary case. Arresting two burglars led to other seven who were involved in other burglary cases.
According to district police authorities, Sopore, during the intervening night of April 26 and 27, 2013 burglars broke into a textile shop M/s Wani Textiles at Chankhan and decamped with clothing merchandize worth lakhs. A case was registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation was started.
During the investigation police received a tip off regarding Irshad Ahmad Bhat, son of Akbar Bhat resident of Izatshah Colony Ningli Sopore for being involved in burglaries. He was arrested ,during his questioning he confessed that he along with his associate Tariq Ahmad Naikoo, son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Izatshah Colony Ningli Sopore had broke into the shop and taken away the clothing from it.
The arrest of the duo led to the recovery of stolen property of the textile shop.
During further questioning their involvement in other cases of theft and burglary was also surfaced. They identified other members of the burglary gang namely Mohammad Saleem Sheikh alias Jaha son of Mohammad Shaban resident of Tarzoo, Aatif Aijaz Shah, son of Aijaz Ahmad Shah resident of Syed Colony Tarzoo, Abdul Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Rehman Bhat resident of Izatshah Colony Ningli Sopore, Bashir Ahmad Malla, son of Mohammad Maqbool resident of Panzipora, Sajad Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Tarzoo, Bashir Ahmad Baba, son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Krankshivan Village and Mohammad Rafiq Kana, son of Late Mohammad Yousf resident of Sher Colony Sopore.
At their instances, police was able to recover fifty cloth wedding suits, one hundred twenty copper utensils including Samavar, plates, Lemon Sets etc., two Computer Systems with accessories, three gas cylinders, seven pairs of Shoes , Kiryana items including Edible Oil, Tea, Turmeric, Chili powder etc, one transformer and one motor from different raid in Sopore.
