Burglars held with stolen bike, other valuables

JAMMU, May 26: Police in Domana area here claimed they have arrested four burglars and recovered a stolen bike and other valuables from their possession.
A police official said that on receiving a complaint regarding a theft at Upper Thathar, Jammu, on May 20, police registered an FIR number 141/2024 under sections 457, 380 IPC at Police Station Domana and started further investigation into the matter.
During investigation, he said, one Sajad Ahmed of Chassana, Reasi, was detained on May 21 from Upper Thathar, Jammu, by a team of Police Post Chinore for questioning.
During sustained questioning, he said, the arrested individual admitted that he along with one Bahadur Ali of Upper Thathar had stolen laptops, one motorcycle, a computer, and other valuable items from the house of the complainant.
He further disclosed that he sold the stolen laptop and computer to one Aksar Khan and one laptop to Mohammad Zaffar both residents of Tulli, Chassana, Reasi, said the police spokesperson.
On May 22, the police official said that a team of police recovered one motorcycle (JK02BN-7681) from Upper Thathar from the place identified by the accused Sajad Ahmed.
A day earlier i.e. on May 21, a party of Police Post Chinore had been deputed to Chassana, Reasi, which succeeded in arresting both Aksar Khan and Mohammad Zaffar on May 22 by recovering the other stolen items from their possession, he said.
Further investigation into the case is underway, added the police official.
