Akhnoor, Feb 13: Thieves took away the donation box from the Sati Sajawati temple located in Channi village of Ambaran panchayat of Akhnoor. Villagers Harsh Kumar, Raman Kumar and Bodhraj said that there is a temple of Kuldevi Sati Sajawati of Samotra Brahmin community in the village whose donation box was uprooted by thieves last night. Local people said that there were about 55 to 60 thousand rupees in the donation box.
The local people said that the donation box was found one and a half kilometers away from the village, it was broken and cash was taken out from it. People said that in the morning, when the devotees went to the temple, they found the donation box missing and informed the people of the community. The people of the fraternity have lodged a report in the police station and the police have started investigation.
